Meet the Team
Remington Shandro
Owner, Registered Audiologist
Remington grew up on a farm northeast of Edmonton but he and his wife have called the city home since completing his education first at the University of Alberta, and then at Dalhousie University in Halifax.
Having a hearing loss since birth, he uniquely understands the way hearing loss can impact all aspects of a person’s wellbeing – from their confidence to their social life, and even their physical health. He strives to deliver personalized care for each client that addresses their unique needs and hearing profiles.
When out of the office, Remington enjoys camping, cycling and exploring Edmonton’s river valley and parks.

Kathleen Jones
Doctor of Audiology
Kathleen was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta and was the owner of Professional Audiology Clinic from 2001 to 2023 when she handed the reins over to Remington.
Being hearing impaired herself, Kathleen brings another level of understanding and compassion to the needs of others who are overcoming their hearing loss. With special interests in pediatric amplification and adult rehabilitation, Kathleen strives to uphold the highest standard of clinical care and aspires to help empower both adults and children to live a fulfilling life with the hearing they have.
Kathleen also has a daughter who is hearing impaired giving her a unique insight into the experience of parents and families of children with hearing loss and affording her a rare level of understanding when working with children.
She earned her doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree from Salus University in Pennsylvania. She also holds Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education Psychology from the University of Alberta.
In her spare time Kathleen enjoys traveling, yoga, skiing and spending time with friends and family.

Rhys Kooistra
Registered Audiologist
Rhys became interested in audiology after working for a year performing hearing screening for industrial workers throughout southern BC. He enjoys helping individuals achieve their greatest hearing potential and working with them to find a personalized solution for their listening needs.
Rhys was born and raised in Vernon, BC, had has lived and studied in BC, Alberta, Ontario and Nova Scotia.
He received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from The King’s University in Edmonton in 2006 and a Master of Clinical Science in Audiology from Western University in London, Ontario, in 2012.
Rhys has also studied music at the University level. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking with his wife and dog, attending Edmonton Symphony Orchestra concerts, and playing guitar, golf and tennis.

Muneeb Alam
Registered Audiologist
Muneeb’s passion for audiology stems from him following his sister’s journey with hearing loss. When his sister did not benefit from hearing aids, she ended up receiving a cochlear implant in her early twenties. He believes with appropriate hearing loss intervention and treatment anyone can achieve their listening goals and is dedicated to supporting your hearing health journey.
Muneeb was born in Montreal, Quebec, and grew up in Cornwall, Ontario. In 2020, he received his Bachelor of Health Sciences with a specialization in the Rehabilitation Sciences from Western University in London, Ontario. He then completed his Masters in Audiology as well from Western University in 2022.
In his spare time, Muneeb enjoys going on walks and exploring, exercising, watching sports, playing video games, and spending time with family.

Veronica Gusikoski
Registered Audiologist
Veronica graduated from MacEwan University with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology in 2014. After graduation, she spent several years in the service industry where she met a hearing aid practitioner who introduced her to the field of Audiology. In 2019, she moved to London, Ontario, where she completed her Masters of Clinical Science in Audiology at Western University.
Throughout her studies and while learning about the impacts of hearing loss, Veronica had the unique experience of undergoing ear surgery, which resulted in her having a mild hearing loss. Gaining a true understanding of the effects of hearing loss further drove Veronica’s passion to promote hearing awareness and help others. Veronica looks forward to making a difference in people’s lives and in her home community. During her free time Veronica is an avid concert goer and enjoys cooking, sports and travelling.

Nim Dhindsa
Medical Office Assistant
Nim grew up in Edmonton and attended school at M.E. LaZerte and then went on to complete her Medical Office Assistant Diploma from Grant MacEwan. She worked with a family physician for over 30 years and takes pride in her ability to consistently provide outstanding patient service, and enhancing their experience when visiting the office.
Outside of work, Nim enjoys music, travelling and spending time with her husband, two adult children, and her adorable lab, Reign.
Sandy Kaur
Accounting Specialists, Patient Care Coordinator
Sandy moved to Canada in 2010 and has been living in Edmonton since then. She is absolutely in love with the country and people here, and is in the final year of her Bachelor of Commerce-Accounting major.
She takes great pride in helping patients with their insurance and third party claims, as well as arranging payment plans to make hearing affordable to everyone. In her free time, she loves watching Netflix and spending time with family.
Kate Ross
Client Care Representative
Kate Ross is a new but dedicated Client Care Representative with a passion for helping clients and colleagues alike. You can count on Kate’s sense of humor and customer service to brighten your day.
Kate grew up in Sherwood Park and completed her BA at the University of Alberta. She developed an early interest in allied health and community services and has over a decade of experience in this field. Above all else she is a dedicated mother to her 5-year-old son Kashus and enjoys spending her free time with family.
